Reenactment of Martha Crawley Incident

The event is a historical re-enactment of Martha Crawley, a settler hostage, brought to a Chickasaw Village; an incident that led to the 1813-1814 Creek War. Friday May 3, 2019 will be for schools and Saturday May 4, 2019 for the public. The event will be held in McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama. Partners are City of Florence, Florence Parks & Recreation, and Florence Lauderdale Tourism with MS Choctaw, Oklahoma Chickasaw, and Poarch Creek participants with 7th Infantry Living History soldiers and a keelboat from Arkansas. The venue is on the north bank of the Tennessee River.
