Young Learners: Astronomy
YOUNG LEARNERS SERIES: ASTRONOMY
The Florence Indian Mound Museum, through its partnership with the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, is hosting a series of children’s activities that help students to investigate the early culture of the Shoals through interactive learning. These programs will cover a wide range of topics; they are suitable for an elementary level age group; will focus on Native American history and culture; and will have a creative component, which will engage students in hands-on learning. All events are free.
Our Astronomy program will take place on Saturday, April 27th at 10 am. This learning exercise will focus on the Southeastern night sky and how the first Alabamians used the sun, moon, and stars to orient themselves. Students will produce constellation charts that they can bring home with them!
