New Year, New Blog! Here are some ways to make this year your best year yet!

If you don’t have a New Year’s Resolution yet, don’t worry! This might give you a little inspiration. If you’ve already broken your New Year’s Resolution, no judgment here! You can start fresh with one of these options on our list!

1. Get outside!

Whether you’re a hiker, walker, biker, fisher or you just like to hang out in your Eno, we’ve got you covered! To enjoy being outdoors a little more this year (when the weather cooperates) try checking out the Disc Golf Course in McFarland Park, take a stroll through Deibert Park, kayak in Wildwood Park, hit up Cane Creek Nature Preserve or just ‘hang’ out at Joe Wheeler State Park!

2. Become a foodie!

We’ve got tons of options in order to become a ‘Florence Foodie,’ whether you’re grabbing Odette‘s (delicious) burger, ordering ravioli at Ricatoni’s — obviously, on all you can eat night or you’re waiting until Friday morning to head over to Stagg’s for a biscuit and chocolate gravy to kickstart the weekend, you are sure to find some unique and delicious options!

3. Happy hour, hoppy hour or wine fest!

For this option, we’ll need to see your ID, but it’s well worth it! Florence is home to some great happy hour deals, local brews and Wine Fest! The Carriage serves up delicious wines, speciality grocery items, farm-fresh produce and fresh cut flowers…hello?? Date night anyone?! Right across the street, you’ve got Wildwood Tavern. Wildwood is a neat little spot adorned with hot dog art, they’re slingin’ drinks, hot dogs, pasta and pizzas 365 days a year! If you’re looking for more brews with your crew, Singin’ River is the place to be! They have some awesome beers and typically have an event going on! It could be Tail-Wagger Tuesday, Trivia night or a concert is happening right next door at Singin’ River Live! I know, we’ve kept you wondering about Wine Fest and tickets are on sale NOW! Head over to https://www.florencewinefest.com to snag yours!

4. Catch more sunrises

And then you can beat the crowd to Rivertown Coffee or Turbo Coffee! I mean, how could any day be a bad day when you start it off with this view?

5. Learn something new!

If you’ve never taken a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright-Rosenbaum home, W.C. Handy Birthplace & Museum, Pope’s Tavern, The Indian Mound Museum, Ivy Green, Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, FAME Recording Studio or the Alabama Music Hall of Fame you are missing out! It’s time to brush up on a little Shoals History and bring your friends along too!

What are your new year's resolutions? Let us know!
