1. The Natchez Trace

The Natchez Trace is perfectly designed for a family road trip. This scenic parkway connects 444 miles of primitive campsites, bike trails, footpaths, and so much foliage for the eye to see. Even better, it runs right through The Shoals! You'll be cruising at a nifty 50mph for miles and miles. Grab a camera and hit the road to experience The Natchez Trace this fall.

2. Wilson Dam and the Tennessee Valley Authority Nature Trails

Shoals Fact: The Wilson Dam is 137 feet high and stretches 4,541 feet across the Tennessee River making it a must-see when you’re in The Shoals! Take a quick drive over the dam to be surrounded by the glorious waters of the Tennessee River. Once you get to the other side, take a trip through the TVA in Muscle Shoals and discover more amazing views and numerous walking trails.

3. Historic Downtown Tuscumbia

Head across the river to Tuscumbia to experience famed attractions, local dining, outdoor adventures, and many roads to explore. Tuscumbia’s charming downtown streets are great for strolling in and out of the vehicle. To keep the adventure rolling, take a detour through the surrounding neighborhoods to encounter historic architecture unique to the area.
