Sheffield is nestled between Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals, right on the Tennessee River. Head to downtown Sheffield for walkable shopping and dining and choose from a range of cuisines including barbecue, sushi, Mexican, and more. Be sure to stop by the beautiful Ritz Theatre. Formerly a silent movie house in the 1920s, today the fully restored theatre offers a packed schedule of films, music, and performing arts.

Music Attractions in Sheffield

Music lovers can see two famous recording studios in Sheffield. Tour Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, which churned out plenty of hits and was founded by four famous session musicians from the 1960s known as "The Swampers." Also in Sheffield, Cypress Moon is known for recording world-famous musicians and continues to operate today.

Parks & Outdoors

Riverfront Park is the place for family fun and outdoor adventure in Sheffield. The park offers 360-degree scenic river views, walking trails, picnic facilities, and boat launches for fishing and water access. Kids will love the playground and splash pad too.

For additional riverfront fun, check out the views from the Sheffield Water Tower, which is north of downtown Sheffield on Montgomery Avenue. And don’t miss the chance to walk the Old Railroad Bridge, at the Tennessee Valley Authority Reservation. The bridge dates back to the 1800s and is the oldest remaining bridge in Alabama. The reservation also features several miles of pleasant nature trails.
