Historical Board Q & A

The Florence Historical Board will be hosting a question and answer session about the role of the board in the process of design review for alterations to homes and businesses in Florence’s historic districts. The event will be held in the Florence City Auditorium on Monday, August 12th at 5pm.

The Florence Historical Board is responsible for fostering public knowledge of and respect for important events, individuals, and structures in the historical development of Florence, Alabama. Specific activities include: installation and maintenance of Historic Markers, oversight of residential and commercial projects in the Florence Historic Districts, and supervision of the Cemetery Rehabilitation Committee. This session will allow residents of Florence to ask questions of members of the historical board regarding the process of seeking alterations to homes and businesses located in any of Florence’s ten historic districts. The Florence Historical Board serves as a guide for helping our city’s structures maintain their historic integrity.
