AND THE WORLD WILL BE AS ONE - PAINTINGS BY MARY ANN CASEY

Mary Ann Casey is a writer, painter, and sculptor from Auburn, Alabama; a collection of her paintings will be displayed at Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts January 6th through February 17th. Born and raised in the deep South, Casey’s expressive, contemporary paintings are portrayed through a variety of media. Ms. Casey relies on her faith and Southern roots for inspiration, and her belief in the importance of family and faith are themes that run throughout her work which has been displayed throughout the South, including the Wiregrass Art Museum in Dothan, AL, the Johnson Center for the Arts in Troy, AL, and the African American Museum in Dallas, TX.

Casey hopes that the paintings in this collection “become a collaboration between me and my viewers…I surrender my spirit to a sense of energy, love, oneness, hope and peace.”

The Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts is free and open to the public Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
