We’re kicking off our 2026 Legends Series with recording engineer Steve Melton. Steve served as Chief Sound Engineer at Muscle Shoals Sound from 1971-1980, and later produced and engineered independently for major labels including Sony, Capitol, Warner Bros., and more. A Grammy-nominated engineer for his work with Percy Sledge and Etta James, Steve also helped shape Gold and Platinum records for icons like Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rod Stewart, Bob Seger, Glenn Frey, Art Garfunkel, Steve Winwood & Traffic, Wilson Pickett, Joe Cocker, and more.
