Poetry Prom with Shannon Milliman
All are welcome to come dance and share at a unique night out. It’s your chance to DRESS up (not required but feel free to wear sparkles, maybe you’re a bermuda shorts guy/gal). Couples, families, singles, whatever’s, if you have a body and a soul, well, you are wanted at this Poetry Prom! There will be GOOD music, no lame wallflower stuff. And occasional rests allowing poetry to be read. By you and anyone. Or a song. Whatever is poetry to you. Catch your breath, fill your spirit! Bring your own to read. Or a poem you love. Or choose one off the table to read aloud. And then the music begins again. Jazz hands. Watussi. Do-si-do. Spin. Leap. Shuffle. Free, donation to The Village School foundation providing space, welcome. In honor of National Poetry Month and inaugural Florence, AL Poet Laureate’s birthday!
