FILM SCREENING: Te Ata

The Florence Indian Mound Museum will host a film screening of the Chickasaw Nation production,
Te Ata. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 6th at 6pm.

Te Ata is based on the inspiring true story of Mary Thompson Fisher, a woman who traversed cultural barriers to become one of the greatest Native American performers of all time. Born in Indian Territory, and raised on the songs and stories of her Chickasaw culture, Te Ata’s journey to find her true calling led her through isolation, discovery, love and a stage career that culminated in performances for a United States president, European royalty and audiences across the world. Yet of all the stories she shared, none are more inspiring than her own. Running time for the film is 105 minutes.

This program is sponsored by the Florence Indian Mound Museum and is free to the public. The Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday, 1pm to 4pm. Call (256) 760-6427 for more information.
