While Florence and the Shoals are most well-known for musical heritage, visitors can also find local galleries, museums, and theaters offering year-round entertainment and inspiration. Visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Rosenbaum House to tour a beautifully preserved example of this famous architect’s work.

Art Exhibits

Take the family to the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art for rotating exhibits and a permanent collection of artifacts dating back to prehistoric times in Alabama. The Kennedy-Douglass Center for The Arts offers a range of ever-changing exhibits and juried art shows inside unique historic homes in downtown Florence.

Local Theatres

The Shoals Theatre in downtown Florence, one of two historic theaters in the area, features family-friendly stage productions. The Ritz Theatre in nearby Sheffield, also offers concerts, theater, movies, and music festivals throughout the year.

There are many local galleries in Florence and the Shoals, and you can connect with our artists and the entire community during First Fridays held in the evenings in downtown Florence from March through December.
